ACLT's 2020 Parkers Creek Challenge TRIATHLON

Check out this year’s Virtual Biathlon option here!

Saturday, September 26, 2020 – 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Rain Date: Sunday, September 27th)

2019 PCC Participants

Are you ready to take the CHALLENGE?

ACLT’s triathlon with a twist starts with a round trip 9-mile bike ride from the ACLT’s South Side trailhead on Scientists Cliffs Road in Port Republic, MD to St. Leonard Elementary School in St. Leonard and back; running 2 miles to the Chesapeake Bay along Scientists Cliffs Road and through the Warrior’s Rest sanctuary; paddling a 3-mile round trip on the Bay and pristine Parkers Creek; and making the return 2-mile run to the South Side trailhead.

New this year – We are offering the option to complete a “virtual” biathlon (same bike ride and a 4-mile trail run/walk) to be completed on your own time. Click here for all the details.

COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION:
While participating in the Parkers Creek Challenge, “social distancing” must be practiced and face coverings worn at all times before and after the actual race to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19.  Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, ACLT has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread.  However, ACLT cannot guarantee that its participants, volunteers, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19. A waiver of liability must be electronically signed at registration.

In light of the ongoing spread of COVID-19, individuals who fall within any of the categories below should not engage in the Parkers Creek Challenge. By attending the event, participants must certify that they do not fall into any of the following categories:

  1. Individuals who, within fourteen (14) days prior to the event, have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others;
  2. Individuals who have traveled at any point within fourteen (14) days prior to the event, either internationally or to a community in the U.S. that has experienced or is experiencing sustained community spread of COVID-19; or
  3. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.

Duty to Self-Monitor After Event: Participants and volunteers agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and contact ACLT at aclt@acltweb.org if he/she experiences symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days after participating in or volunteering at the Parkers Creek Challenge.
