Get Involved
Whether you’re planning a visit or want to help protect the Parkers Creek Preserve, there’s plenty of ways to get involved with ACLT!

Events and Activities.
Attend an Event or Visit on Your Own!
There’s so much to do at ACLT! Check out our Calendar of Events to see what we have planned or sign up for a guided hike or a guided canoe trip up Parkers Creek! ACLT’s 26 miles of trails are free and open to the public year round. Check out our trail maps to plan your visit. Note: There is no public access to the beach or creek for boats.

Become an ACLT Maryland Master Naturalist.
Become a naturalist and share your love of nature. A “Master Naturalist” is a citizen scientist who is dedicated to the care and conservation of Maryland’s natural environment. Certified Master Naturalists can share their expertise with the public, participate in research, and guide hikes and canoe trips.
Classes run annually from March to June. Contact ACLT Land Manager Autumn Phillips-Lewis or click here for more info.

Conserve Your Land.
Explore the many ways to secure the future of your beloved property. ACLT permanently protects natural areas by land purchase, conservation easements, and land leases in the Parkers Creek and Governor’s Run Watersheds. We’re happy to offer guidance on your preservation options whether your property is in these watersheds or not. Contact Mary Hoover, SMCA Coordinator, for more info.

Join a Watershed Friends Group.
With the help of local citizens, ACLT has formed “Friends Groups” in 5 watersheds around Calvert County. Their mission is to promote the ecological health and resiliency of their watershed’s streams and landscape so that landowners, citizens, government agencies, and elected officials together take an active role in protecting and sustaining the natural and cultural resources.
Visit the Watershed Friends Groups web page or contact Mary Hoover, SMCA Coordinator, for more info.
