Take the Challenge and Hit the Trails! Our Earth Day Virtual 5K was so much fun, we decided to kick it up a notch!
Run/Walk/Hike all 22 miles* of ACLT trails! Explore trails you’ve never tried before and conquer some of our more strenuous ones! NOTE: This is a challenge and not a race! You can complete it over several days or weeks – not necessarily all in one day (unless you want to!)
Challenge is based on the honor system – keep track of your progress by tracing your routes on a trail map, or use a fitness watch or app.
We hope this non-competitive fundraiser will help people feel more connected to their community during the COVID-19 crisis. Safe-at-home orders currently in place allow and encourage outdoor exercise. This is an excellent training opportunity for those planning to participate in the Parkers Creek Challenge in September!
Proceeds benefit ACLT’s ongoing projects that protect and preserve the Parkers Creek and Governors Run Watersheds.
Share your progress, achievements, stories and photos in a private Facebook Group for participants only.
Dates & Times:
Anytime between May 13th and June 30, 2020 at times that are convenient to you (take your time – you don’t have to complete the Challenge all in one day!). All ACLT trails are open from dawn to dusk daily.
Participants are encouraged to run, walk or hike all of ACLT’s 22 miles of trails. If it’s not possible to visit ACLT’s trails, any location is acceptable – just get out there and enjoy nature!
*Because some trails are “dead-ends” and require doubling back, the Challenge will actually add up to more than 22 miles total.
