The Holly Grove and Arboretum The Warrior's Rest property was owned by Calvert County Physician Page C. Jett from 1955 until 1995 when Dr. Jett's heirs sold the property to the State of Maryland. The Jett Family planted the grounds with a variety of specimen plants and trees. The centerpiece is the holly arboretum, which they called "The Parkers Creek Holly Grove" at a 1963 dedication ceremony attended by 250 people. The ACLT Land Management Committee for Warrior's Rest has created a Holly Adoption Program to facilitate ongoing efforts to maintain and rehabilitate the holly arboretum at Warrior's Rest. |
