18 - Guided Winter Hike at Double Oak
Join ACLT's guides for a hike through the woods at Double Oak Farm (1:30pm - 3:30pm) and see beautiful, unobstructed views of Parkers Creek! Please register for this event. Dogs are not permitted on guided tours.

18 - Vine Vindicator Work Day
Work to improve native plant species on ACLT lands by identifying and removing non-native invasive plants species. Meet at the ACLT south side trailhead barn on Scientists' Cliffs Road, Port Republic. 9am - 12Noon. Bring work gloves and loppers or clippers if you have them. Please contact the office for program updates due to weather conditions.

10 - Annual Membership Meeting
Annual Membership Meeting at St. John Vianney Family Life Center in Prince Frederick from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30pm. Optional lunch at 12:30pm to follow ($15 per person). Please RSVP by March 1st. 18 - Parkers Creek Water Quality Monitoring Training
Join our WQM volunteers in a training course to learn how to collect and prepare water samples from 3 locations along Parkers Creek. Training will run from 9am - 1pm with a classroom portion at the ACLT office and hands-on sampling experience. 31 - Hiking Trail Maintenance Day
Join us as the spring hiking season begins and we clear and maintain some of the ACLT trails from 9am to 12 noon. Volunteers needed for chainsawing, sign placement, general trail maintenance, etc. Work locations to be announced. Water, equipment and lunch will be provided. Please register in advance or call the office to RSVP.

21 - Earth Day Celebration
RAIN OR SHINE! Volunteer crews will be working along roadsides and on selected projects. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the ACLT South side trailhead barn off of Scientists' Cliffs Road, Port Republic. Many volunteers are needed. Volunteers are invited to join us for a celebratory picnic at 12 noon. Come join us!

28 - Spring Guided Hike on Gravatt East
This will be a leisurely guided walk to view spring wildflowers and early migratory birds. Bring your binoculars and meet at 9:00 a.m. sharp at the ACLT Barn, Scientists' Cliffs Rd., Port Republic, MD. Hike will last until approx. 11 a.m. Hike will be rain or shine unless thunderstorms occur. Dogs are not permitted on guided tours.

28 - Children's Guided Hike

9 - Parkers Creek to Flag Ponds Kayak Trip
Paddle from Parkers Creek to Flag Ponds along the Calvert Cliffs shoreline. Join ACLT and the Calvert County Natural Resource Division on this 7 1/2 mile journey. Call Battle Creek Nature Center at 410-535-5327 to register. Limited to 25 people.

15 - Arboretum Work Day
Join the Holly Arboretum Volunteer Crew as they maintain these historic trees at Warrior's Rest Sanctuary. Work includes invasive vine removal, mulching, mowing & pruning from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Bring work gloves, clippers and a smile.
29 - Vine Vindicator Training Day
Learn to recognize non-native invasive plant species and properly remove them to improve habitat for unique and rare native species. Training will include an overview of the problem of invasive plants, in depth identification of common species in our watersheds and some hands-on training on removal techniques. Part of the session will be in the conference room and part will be outdoors so dress for the weather. Training with lunch included from 9am - 2pm. Registration required.

2 - Arboretum Work Day
Join the Arboretum Volunteer Crew as they maintain these historic trees at Warrior's Rest Sanctuary. On this day, volunteers will work to trim the evergreens in preparation for the annual greens sale and hayride. Bring work gloves, clippers and a smile. 1pm - 4pm
7 - Greens Sale Prep Day and Wreath-Making Workshop
Join in on ACLT's prep day and Wreath-making workshop on Friday, December 7th from 10am - 3pm at Warrior's Rest Sanctuary in Port Republic, MD. Pay $25.00 to make at least 2 wreaths (one of which you can take home with you on Friday) OR donate all your handmade wreaths to the Greens Sale and join us for free! 8 - Greens Sale & Beach Hayride
Purchase fresh cut evergreens for holiday decorations, drink hot cider and take a hayride to the beach from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Greens Sale benefits Warrior's Rest Sanctuary.
